The lightbulb test

Have you ever looked closely at your kitchen light bulbs? The ones on the ceiling.

If they have a layer of dust on them, that same dust is on your ceiling and walls. It sticks to the grease that cooking puts in the air.

The dust is not exactly visible, but it does make a kitchen feel dull, not bright enough.
