4 ways we use our steam cleaner

We use our pressurized steam cleaner four ways.

1. A narrow nozzle gets into seams, floor edges, and tight spots around appliances, sinks, and faucets. Places that nothing else reaches.

2. Before applying any cleaning product, we steam the surface first. Some products work significantly better on dirt that has already been loosened by heat.

3. After the product has sat on the surface, we go over it with a brush attachment. The steam adds heat and moisture; the brush lifts what the product loosened.

4. We use the scraper attachment to remove stickers and dried-on elements from surfaces. Heat loosens the adhesive, and most things lift off cleanly without scratching.

For stubborn dirt, we still use manual scrubbing tools, but steaming right before makes a noticeable difference.

Two things we learned: do not use steam on wooden cabinets or floors, or at least be very careful. And keep it away from electronic control panels. We learned that last one the hard way.
